Philippe Gabriel intends to be a contemporary representative of narrative figuration. His works, deliberately monochromatic, suggest a series of photos in which prevail violent black and white contrasts, numerous chiaroscuros and a constant mixture of styles.
Through multiple genre paintings, indoor scenes or portraits, his works evoke a melancholy reverie, solitude, innocence and sometimes suffering. J.S. Korsian
